How to Connect a MacBook to a TV Wirelessly (AirPlay)

To connect a MacBook to a TV wirelessly, use AirPlay to an AirPlay-compatible TV or Apple TV on the same Wi-Fi network. Click the Screen Mirroring icon in the menu bar and select your TV. For TVs without AirPlay, a USB-C to HDMI cable gives a wired alternative.
Connection Methods
AirPlay (Wireless) ⚡ Wireless
Ensure the MacBook and TV are on the same Wi-Fi.
Confirm the TV supports AirPlay 2, or use an Apple TV.
Click Control Center → Screen Mirroring in the menu bar.
Select your TV and enter the code if shown.
USB-C to HDMI 🔌 Wired
Get a USB-C to HDMI adapter or cable.
Connect the MacBook to the TV's HDMI input.
Select that HDMI input on the TV.
Arrange the display in System Settings → Displays.
