To connect an iPhone to a car stereo with CarPlay, plug a quality USB-to-Lightning (or USB-C) cable from your iPhone into the car's CarPlay USB port. CarPlay launches on the car's screen automatically. Use a data-capable cable — charge-only cables won't establish the CarPlay connection.
